Travel back in time to visit all the most significant events and landmarks in Toronto from 1910 until 1969.
This brand-new series of six talks explores the history of Toronto from 1910 through to the end of the 1960s. We take a look back at the most compelling news stories, architecture, events, landmarks and entertainments of each decade. Each presentation includes a lot of rare archival photographs of old Toronto, as well as short newsreels, video and music that had audience members singing along as they reminisced about Toronto in days gone by. This series was put together for a group that meets for 90-minutes, with an intermission in between. So, each decade is made up of two 45-minute presentations, that could be given on different dates, or given together, with a break in between. This series, or parts of it, are ideal for older audiences, who will find a lot that they remember from the 1930s, 1940s, 1950s or 1960s.
